Sari Beth Goodman, Director of General Studies

Sari Beth Goodman began is our Director of General Studies for the Trana & Ronald Labowe Family Day School since 2002.  Before coming to Adat Ari El, she held a similar position at Temple Emanuel Academy.  She was the Principal of the Temple Isaiah Day School previously, as well as adjunct faculty, Department of Education, Mount St. Mary’s College and a teacher at the Center for Early Education in Los Angeles.  Sari received her Master’s degree in Education from California State University, Los Angeles in 1982.  She received her BA in Psychology from the UCLA in 1979, where she received her teaching credentials in multiple subjects in 1980.  In addition to these formal degrees, Sari earned special credentials with Learning Handicapped and Severely Handicapped coursework at California State University, Los Angeles in 1981.

Sari is especially proud of her work in creating a coordinated General Studies curriculum for our Day School and working with the amazing teachers in our school to develop strong minds and a love of learning in our Day School children. 

Sari went to Hebrew School at Adat Ari El and was a Senior Youth Advisor in the late 70’s.  During her time as a student, Rabbi Rothblum was the only confirmation teacher.  Many students have expressed surprise to see her picture on the wall outside the Farber Auditorium.

Sari is married to Ron Kahan and they have two wonderful boys, one at college and one at Milken Community High School.
