| KORAH In last week’s Torah portion, we read how the Israelites, due to their own lack of trust, were doomed to wander in the desert for forty years before they will enter the Holy Land. Why then do you exalt yourselves over the assembly of YHWH? (Numbers 16:1-3, translation by Prof. Everett Fox) One the surface, Korah’s complaint is powerful and needs to be taken seriously. His argument is simple: if all of community is holy and God is in their midst, why should Moshe and Aharon retain all the leadership positions? Given that all the people are holy and Moshe and Aharon’s leadership failed to bring the people to the Holy land, why should they remain in power? Bring in new blood and vision and maybe the community’s fortunes will turn around. It all sounds so good! ...read more | services@ADAT Friday, June 11th Kabbalat Shabbat Service 6:00 p.m. in the Deiber Chapel Saturday, June 12th Shabbat Torah Study 9:00 a.m. in the Wynn Mtg Rm Shabbat Morning Services and Spiegel Bar Mitzvah 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary Friday, June 18th Kabbalat Shabbat Service 6:00 p.m. in the Deiber Chapel Valley Ruach Young Professionals Service 7:30 p.m. click here for more info Saturday, June 19th Shabbat Torah Study 9:00 a.m. in the Wynn Mtg Rm Shabbat Morning Services and Klein Bar Mitzvah 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary SHABBAT CHILDCARE Saturday, June 26th will be the last Shabbat that childcare will be provided.
