Shimon [the son of Rabban Gamliel] says:
It is not what one says, but rather what one does, that makes all the difference in the world.    Pirke Avot 1:17

As Shimon says, you are taking a necessary step to make a difference in the world.

We encourage you to consider making a bequest to Adat Ari El.  It is one way to support our community when it might not be financially possible during your working or retirement years. You can leave a specific amount, a particular asset, or a percentage of the value of your estate.

The easiest and least expensive way to make a small change in your existing will is to add a codicil.  The codicil will retain all the provisions of your existing will, except those which are modified by this addition.  It is as simple as adding such language as:  “I hereby give to Adat Ari El, a not-for-profit entity at 12020 Burbank Blvd., Valley Village, CA 91607, the sum of $_____ or _____ % of the residue of my estate.”  This addition should be discussed with your lawyer.

If you have already designated AAE in your will, please let us know so we can recognize you appropriately.
For further information on making a bequest, please contact Ann Sturman, Development Director, at, (818) 766-9426.  The conversation will be held in confidence.
